OBJECTION TO APPLICATION FOR  DEVELOPMENT  PERMIT

Application number: A0052 421 90

Property address: 108 Lambert Street, Kangaroo Point

On 8 September 2020, a new development application was lodged over 108 Lambert Street, Kangaroo Point.

Previously, on 3 July 2020, the Brisbane City Council approved a staged, 3-tower, 10 storey development of 200 units (Council reference: A005260505). The new development application seeks an additional 5 storeys over each tower (an additional 100 units).

Since an updated neighbourhood plan adopted for the suburb after the recent council elections allows 15 storeys, the new application remains within the code.

The artist’s impression of the development clearly shows the scale of the project and the impact it will have on the amenity and views of surrounding residences.

This new development application was prepared by a new entity (Main St Projects Pty Ltd) and new planning consultants (Urbis).  The director and shareholder of this company is Pedro Pikos. The Castlebar Cove Body Corporate Committee has engaged a town planner to lodge an objection to this further application.

Depending on the response of the Brisbane City Council to objections from local residents, the developer may reconsider its application. As a suburb, Kangaroo Point already has the highest density of units and apartments in Brisbane. As a ‘land-locked’ suburb, Kangaroo Point already has one of the highest traffic densities and highest non-resident traffic flows.

Interesting to point out that even the developer thinks that the July 2020 application and the September 2020 are the same except for the height!

Mr Pikos thinks the development applications are generally reflected to be the same except for the height.

The residents of KP think that the development applications are the same except for the height.

LM Schrinner & Town Planner sees a big difference!

PLEASE EXPLAIN LORD MAYOR - WHERE ARE THE DIFFERENCES?
